Luxa Mart*in Schüttler scrutinises the phenomenon of romanticism through microscopic changes in pulse and tonality in Hugo Wolf’s ‘Resignation’. Elena Rykova reflects on the burdens of post-Soviet society–self-censorship, fear and repression–‘because in order to move forward, one must confront not only the past, but also the painful present’. Kuba Krzewinski creates a special moment of empathy when the singers recount how a burnout can catapult you out of the ‘glamorous festival business’ and change your life forever.
