Vera Burlak (*1977 in Kyiv) is a writer, translator, and performer who actively participates in literary and musical projects. She studied Russian Philology and later taught at the State University of Belarus, with her main academic focus being on children’s poetry. She writes her literary works in Belarusian. In her poetry and short prose, she seeks to paradoxically combine naivety and irony, as well as rational-verbal and musical principles. Her poems and short stories have been translated into German, English, Czech, Polish, Russian, Ukrainian, and Esperanto. Since 2023, Vera Burlak has been living with her family in Stuttgart.
