Last summer, I had a profound encounter with a beautiful beach on an island. It was a moment steeped in intimacy, nostalgia, and simplicity—feelings that lingered long after.

This collection of short, episodic interludes—musical dioramas—seeks to recreate and reimagine those fleeting moments. Each piece folds fantasy into fiction, weaving a tapestry of memory and imagination while exploring the delicate balance of scale and form.

Zeynep Toraman (*1992) is a composer and scholar from Istanbul, Turkey, currently living and working in Berlin. She taught at the Institute for Electronic Music and Acoustics (IEM) at the University of Music and Performing Arts Graz and completed her PhD in music composition at Harvard University in 2023, where she studied with Chaya Czernowin, Hans Tutschku, and John Hamilton. In her practice-based research, she explores how texts (in the broadest sense of the term) can interact within the larger context of musical compositions, considering her own library as an archive and incorporating autobiography, poetry, fiction, and history into her works.
