Bernhard Gander: Scorching Scherzo

Bernhard Gander was born in Lienz in 1969. He first studied at the Tyrolean State Conservatory, then composition with Beat Furrer in Graz. He learned electronic music at Studio UPIC in Paris, computer music in Zurich. He was awarded prizes by the City of Vienna, later also the Austrian State Scholarship for Composition, as well as the Erste Bank Composition Prize, the SKE Publicity Prize and for »melting pot« the Ernst Krenek Prize. The work brought Bernhard Gander together with the most important international ensembles and various orchestras and to the renowned festivals for new music in Vienna, Strasbourg, Donaueschingen, Witten, Munich, Stuttgart…
